Hello OSEA Members and staff,
As we all know too well, Reynolds School District is facing ongoing challenges due to funding inadequacies - and classified staff is feeling the impact every day. We cannot continue to do more with less.
Now is the time to speak up.
OSEA is encouraging all members to contact Governor Tina Kotek (contact information below) and demand that our schools are funded fairly and equitably. Our students deserve the resources they need and our staff deserves safe and sustainable working conditions.
When you reach out, please share your personal stories about how underfunding is affecting you and your workplace.
Our collective voices matter and have power. Let's stand together to advocate for our schools, students, and each other!
Thank you for taking the time to speak out.
In Solidarity,
Your Executive Board

Hello OSEA Members and staff,
As you may have seen, the District has announced that it will be starting the RIF (Reduction In Force) process once again this spring. We are deeply saddened by this update and the impact it will have on members. Union leadership will be meeting with the District in the coming weeks to ensure that the process outlined in Article 14 of our contract is followed.
We know that with these reductions, many members will experience fear and strain. Ultimately, it will be our students, families, and community who feels it the most through larger class sizes, fewer support structures, and potentially deteriorating services.
Our chapter leaders will be working on providing chapter members with support in collaboration with our labor partners across the state. This may include work sessions on unemployment benefits, resume workshops, and other resources. As always, we welcome more voices in the process - if you’d like to get involved, let us know. At this time, we have the same information as you regarding the reductions.
While we are all going to experience strong feelings about this information, we need to remember that we are not alone and we can lean on our Union and fellow workers. Take time to take care of yourself and one another, check in on your fellow members - especially our long time OSEA members who have weathered similar storms in the past who know that with each hurdle we face we unite and become stronger. We are reminded that this is why we are a Union, why we pay our dues, and why we invest time and energy into our chapter. Together, we will get through this.
In Solidarity,
Your Executive Board

Hello OSEA Members and Classified Staff,
I am proud to step into the role of OSEA Chapter 37 President and am honored to serve and support every member of our chapter. I want to thank Esper Farmer for all of her hard work and dedication for the past two years.
Transitions and changes are always difficult, but they also allow us opportunities to adjust and improve. Our Executive Board is prioritizing the needs of our members as we fight for stronger rights and livable wages. Our voices are stronger together as we unite with our shared interests and advocate for what we need as educators.
I want to ensure that as President of OSEA Reynolds Chapter 37, our people feel supported, represented, and heard. Our Executive Board has taken several steps towards improving these goals for our members. We have big changes to announce as we move forward.

Classified Staff are critical players in education. Every student is impacted by our support every day. From the moment they see the lights of the school bus driving up their street followed by the bus driver's warm, "good morning," to the EA who helps them put away their back pack and teaches them to read. Classified staff support them. From the food, to the books, to the front office, and back out to the busses, OUR Union Members support them. We support the buildings, the grounds, teachers, administrators, and community members with every action we take. We are Reynolds, we are OSEA and we are critical to the very function of every school and building. Our work matters and our profession deserves dignity and respect. Join us as we organize and build a system that works for us rather than against us. We can only do this by banding together to uphold and protect our rights. Let's get vocal, band together, and stand up for what we believe in!
In Solidarity,
Kristy Cousineau
